Oaks Day Jackpot for Guerite

An already incredible Oaks Day for the team was capped off with a gutsy win from Rosemont homebred mare, Guerite. Jumping from barrier 7, she was able to land in an ideal position midfield, albeit with plenty of traffic to contend with. She settled well at her first attempt at a mile and after a few nervy moments, Fred Kersley was able to take the gap and find clear running. She was tough over the concluding stages, gaining the upper hand from a gallant Barbie'sdreamworld to take out the $500,000 feature. You will not see two better rides than Fred's last two on this mare and we're all absolutely thrilled to see Fred scoring a win on the big stage.
Black type races await this mare now as we give her a short break before possibly targeting the Tasmania or Adelaide carnivals in the hope of making her a valuable broodmare prospect.
