First Chorus Dominant at Flemington
Friday, 07 Nov 2025

A red letter day for the stable kicked off in great style with exciting mare First Chorus destroying her rivals in the $150k TCL Trophy BM70. Drawn the carpark in barrier 16, the pressure was on rider Jamie Mott to find a spot and he produced what was possibly the ride of the carnival to get across and position her just off the speed. Everything fell into place when she chased a strong speed and roared away from them at the 300m mark to score and effortless win on racing's big stage.
This is a mare who has just got better and better each time she goes around and will continue to improve next preparation when we can chase some more city spoils with her. We're nowhere near her ceiling yet which is an exciting proposition for the future.
Congratulations to Brad Spicer and his terrific group of owners who showed up in droves and cheered her home. Winning this race was a plan hatched by Brad and Lindsey a couple of months ago and it was executed flawlessly by everyone involved - from the trainer, to the stable staff, trackriders, Jamie Mott, Fred Kersley and the team at Rosemont who looked after her so well throughout the preparation. Without you all, these special victories don't happen and we are proud of each and every one of you. Onwards and upwards and looking forward to what the future holds for this mare.
