Maiden Success for First Chorus

On Friday at Seymour developing four year old Ghibellines mare, First Chorus, defeated a strong maiden field to score in the CUB Maiden Plate. Stepping out to 1400m after a gutsy second at Seymour the start before, First Chorus took advantage of the switch to senior rider, Jamie Mott, who lifted her over the line in a driving finish with a promising derby prospect from the Busuttin/Young yard.

This young mare has shown great improvement and is one we think can go through the grades. We’ll look towards placing her to advantage for her next assignment where she can be very competitive again. Congratulations to Spicer Thoroughbreds and the team and hopefully we can see her salute again this preparation.
